Vitamin Chi supplements for Seasonal Rhinitis--let's try it!

I was one of the many people who made the trek out to Anza Borrego to see the superbloom this spring and I see blooming trees and grasses everywhere. It's so beautiful. It's so green. It's so itchy.

The downside of all of this flowering is the itchy, sniffling, heavy-headed feeling that comes with allergic rhinitis.  I was just ordering herbs for myself to help boost my body's ability to deal with it and thought you might like a dose too.  I'd love to get some great testimonials, so come talk to me.  You don't even need needles to take herbs, but I will need to feel your pulse and have you stick out your tongue.

Big Goal for March!

(Vulnerable Post) Since starting Vitamin Chi Acupuncture and Wellness, I’m living the life I didn’t dare dream of just a few years ago.  I’ve helped dozens of people with neck and shoulder pain, healing broken bones, migraines, and TMJ.  Recently, a patient told me he cancelled his surgical appointment after having so much relief in his first visit.

But I’ve also struggled a LOT. Before I opened my practice, I questioned my ability to help people when I couldn’t cure my own shoulder.  I almost gave up doing acupuncture completely. My doubt kept me from opening an office for years and I only treated close personal friends because I was afraid I couldn’tjustify charging people money for a system that I couldn’t be sure would help them. For almost two years, I didn’t get dressed without wincing and I carefully slept only on my left side in order to not make things worse.  My two boys carried my bags and I felt like an old lady.

But I was determined to solve this problem and return to the normal use of my shoulder. Eventually I discovered and began using a unique combination of skills that is having phenomenal results. I’ve learned and experienced what it’s like to go from hopeless and stuck to pain free and mobile.  I feel 10 years younger now and I’m working on all of the crazy yoga poses I never thought I could.

It’s given me confidence to know that I can treat so many painful and complicated conditions.  Everywhere I go, I see people that I know I can help.   But I still needed to get the courage to get my business going.  And do you know what?  I love treating people and having them tell me I have magic hands.  I look forward to going to the office everyday to find out who I get to meet and how I can help them.

Why do I care so much?  Because people get hurt and go to their doctors not knowing that they can have relief without surgery and drugs. The problem is that they begin to adjust to a life of less function, less, activity, and less fun. They become old before their time.

That’s why I feel excited to share about the goal I’ve set for the month of March.  It’s a big goal and I’m very excited about it.

My goal is to have 15 new clients visit me in the month of March.  If I am successful, it will be the biggest month Vitamin Chi has ever had.

I want to help. That’s why I’m offering a free herbal formula (up to a $35 value) or the very relaxing lavender eye pillow for anyone who books a 4-session package.  And if you book an 8-session package, you get both!  http://vitamin-chi.com/packages/

So, will you hold this vision for me to meet 15 new patients in the next 25 days?

And if you know anyone who is struggling with a health problem, especially a painful neck or shoulder, will you share this post with them? I would love to help them!

Anyone interested can comment here, private message me, or send me an email at jennifer@vitamin-chi.com

Mindfulness from your smart phone

I love the idea of the smart phone being a tool for mindfulness because it usually seems like the thief of quiet contemplation--the source of blinky games, click bait, and Facebook stories that make you rant grumpily in your head.

Best Meditation Apps of 2016

My current favorite isn't even on this list.  I like the Enso meditation timer and bell because I don't like my phone telling me what to do (e.g. "Let your shoulders relax and feel the air coming into your nose.")

Ideally you want a meditation app that you don't find annoying. Plus, it rewards you with Enlightened Cat.

Do you have a smartphone app that helps you with keeping calm? Or do you have some great tips for San Diego meditators? I'd love to hear them!

Feeling down? Take two sliders and call me in the morning

In this study, women who consumed less than the Australian recommended amount of red meat (beef and lamb) suffered more depression. In TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) beef and lamb are two of the "hotter" meats, so this creates more energy.  And the article does point out that Australian beef and lamb tend to be grass-fed so they're Omega 3 rich. Or could it be the iron?

In any case, I know what I'm having for lunch today!

We're moving!! Come visit the new space in March!

Hello!

I'm so excited to tell you about the new home of Vitamin Chi Acupuncture and Wellness. Starting March 9th, I'll be at 4002 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA 92103.

It's a cozy space with a bigger reception area and a free attached parking lot. It also comes with more days, so I'll be available for appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

I'll be working in the same office as The Wellness Source, so you may see that sign first. (Ignore the one that says "Dentistry." Unless you're in need of dental help, in which case, by all means go for it.)

I want to plan some sort of office warming party in March, so look for details.  Thanks for your continued support!

Vitamin What?

Hi there!  I'm so glad you're here!

When I was in acupuncture school a long time ago (in the late 90's), I knew I wanted to name my clinic Vitamin Chi.  First of all, it sounds like Vitamin C and I can't resist a good pun.  But more than that, it playfully embodies my approach:  a combination of healthy practices--like getting enough vitamins--and having good chi--the proper circulation of blood and emotions.

I love helping people get their health back on track and it's really fun to have people's pain disappear.  I provide "homework" so patients can be in charge of their health at home with herbs or exercises and not be dependent on office treatments.  This is your daily Vitamin Chi that you can take at home!
